My name is Ryan Merritt, and I’m a 20-year-old entrepreneur and finance student at the University of North Carolina Wilmington, where I’m part of the Honors College and maintain a 3.9 GPA.
In 2023, I started Charlotte Mulch Guys and More, a company that specializes in small home projects like mulching, landscaping, power washing, car detailing, trash removal, and more.
Having lived in the Ballantyne area for over a decade, I saw a real need for affordable, reliable services, as many contractors were charging high prices for basic projects —and worse, flaking on customers. That’s why I make it a priority to answer the phone, show up on time, and follow through on every job. I’ve built strong community ties and a passion for helping homeowners maintain and improve their properties without breaking the bank.
Through my studies and business, I’m focused on mastering financial strategies while growing a successful service-based company.

Alongside my partner Ryan, I’ve helped build this company from the ground up, focusing on delivering exceptional service and customer satisfaction every step of the way.
I’m currently studying Business Management at East Carolina University, where I maintain a 3.7 GPA. As an ambitious and driven entrepreneur, I’m always looking for ways to grow, learn, and push myself further. My passion for success fuels my desire to innovate and lead with vision, not only in my business but in all aspects of my life.
